Was jet mech (MOS was 6312 - but they don't have that any more - newer jet fighters and better engines, I guess). I mustered out as an E-5 Sgt and now, in retrospect, I wished I would have taken Gunny up on his shippin' over offer. I didn't because he said I'd probably be sent right back to 'Nam and I had gotten my fill of that place already...still, even with that bit of knowledge, if I had it to do over, yeah, I'da stayed in. I don't regret any second of the time I was in the Corps. Kept very quiet about it for many years. Never been able to connect with anyone from boot camp, or anyone I served with. Might be because of the situation at the time - not stationary with anyone long enough to build a lasting relationship. We all kinda thought we'd never see each other again. It's proving to be quite true - sadly enough. Occupation: Law enforcement (sheriff's deputy) and security (management) Hobbies/Interest: My daughters and my wife are my biggest and most important interest. I really like to ride my bike (motorcycle), play golf occasionally, go fishing occasionally - but mainly do stuff with my "girls".

Next tour was in Washington D.C. at Naval Air Systems Command, and then back to Quantico for Command and Staff College. Then I was XO of VMO-1 for 10 months, then got to be Commanding Officer for 2 full years. After that I went to the 3d MAW staff on Okinawa for 3 years - 2 1/2 as the Operations (Plans) officer, then 6 months as the G-4A, and a day as the G-4. From there I went to Quantico and served as the Director, International Training for the Marine Corps (international students at USMC schools). I retired in 1996 and worked for the Marine Air Ground Task Force Staff Training Program as a civilian consultant at Quantico for 2 years. I then worked a Joint program, led by the Army for the development of a software program called TCAIMS II. I did that for 10 years, then my wife and I quit our jobs and moved here - her home town.
